Music with Ms. Adcock
Welcome to Music with Ms Adcock!
My name is Ms Adcock and I am the instrumental music teacher and Band Director here at Manual Arts High School. I teach a variety of instruments and classes, including beginning instruments (guitar, bass, drums, piano), modern band, and advanced band (winds and percussion).
I am very passionate about music and music education, and believe all students should have access to a high quality performing arts education while they are in high school. I strive to instill a sense of inquiry, creativity, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and hard work in my students through music education and performance.
Background: I have been the instrumental music teacher and band director here at Manual Arts since 2022, and am very proud to be a toiler! I started my journey at MAHS as the drum-line coach in 2016, and later worked for the Woodcraft Rangers After School Program, supporting the Percussion Ensemble, Drum-line and Advanced Band/Marching Band from 2017-2022.
Education: I earned my Associates of Arts Degree in Drum Set Performance from Musicians Institute in 2012, my Bachelors of Music in Popular Music Performance (drum set) from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2017, and my Masters of Music Education through the University of Florida in 2025. In addition, I completed the single subject credential program at National University, and also attended Los Angeles Valley College from 2012-2014.
Students: If you are interested in participating in the drum-line, modern band, or marching band, please come visit me in Room 4!
