Welcome!
Hello! I’m Ms. Edmari Joy Gutierrez, one of your Ethnic Studies and US History teachers here at Manual Arts in the Freshmen Preparatory Academy (FPA). This is currently my first year of teaching and I’m excited to be sharing space with the Toiler Family!
ABOUT ME: Born in the Bay Area and raised in Sacramento to my mother from Echague, Philippines and my father from Nueva Ecija, Philippines. When I’m not teaching, some of my hobbies include film photography, crocheting, taking care of my houseplants, and spending time with my loved ones.
EDUCATION: I graduated from CSU Sacramento with a B.A. in Social Science, a B.A. in Ethnic Studies (Asian American Studies), and a minor in History. I am currently in my second year at UCLA for my Masters in Education, with an emphasis on Ethnic Studies education.
