About Me

Hi! My name is Arlen Hernandez, and I am currently part of the ELD department where I teach levels 1 and 2. Although I am new to the Toiler family, I have worked within schools for a couple years now. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a behavioral therapist working with students on the spectrum. I spent three years working within SPED before making the change to being a classroom teacher. I attended Mount Saint Mary's University, and earned my B.A. in English. I am currently still a student there but now I'm working on my Masters in Education.

A little about myself outside of the school setting is that I enjoy coffee and music. I love to attend concerts or music festivals, I enjoy hiking, and my favorite pastime is having a carne asada with my family on the weekends. I love to read on my free time, even though it is hard to do so with my current schedule, I aim to read one book of my choice per month. I am excited to finish my first year of teaching here at Manual and look forward to working with you and your child.
